SPROUTs Learning Lab
The SPROUTs Learning Lab is designed to excite and engage children ages 18 months to 8 years in a wide variety of hands-on discovery and learning experiences in the world of natural science. The lab will encourage children to become aware and ready for careers in science. Children will develop knowledge and competence to explore careers directly related to the natural sciences; 1) Biomedical Science, 2) Resource Conservation, 3) Zoology, and 4) Paleontology.
Native American Exhibit
The Native American exhibit will feature photographs by Edward Curtis and Native American artifacts from the Burpee Collection. The exhibit will showcase the holdings in the Native American collection, as well as original textiles, pottery, and other works of art. This display will run October 2016 – April 2017 in the Woodward Hall.
The goal of the wildlife conservation area is to recognize and insure that nature will be around for future generations to enjoy. This area will stress the importance of wildlife conservation by showcasing Burpee’s collection of large, exotic, and unique specimens that are threatened or endangered as well as some that have recovered with effective conservation strategies.
History of Burpee
The History of Burpee exhibit will depict the evolution and rich history of Burpee Museum and include a variety of historical artifacts and specimens. Take a walk through time and see the history of Burpee Museum with our touchscreen presentation along with historical photographs. This display will be in the Woodward Hall October 2016 – April 2017.
